ALGHERO OPEN MONUMENTS
30th Regional Edition – 24th Edition in Alghero, May 16-17, 2026
One of the city’s most anticipated cultural events returns: Open Monuments, the event that celebrates and enhances the historical, artistic, and identity-building heritage of the region.
The 30th national edition, of which Alghero hosts the 24th city edition, has the slogan: “OPEN MONUMENTS GENERATION – A HERITAGE OF CULTURE, BONDS, MEMORY: A MATTER OF LOVE FOR OUR LAND.”
On Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th, 2026, monuments, churches, archaeological sites, and cultural venues will be open to the public free of charge, offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to discover Alghero’s history and identity.
The initiative will once again feature volunteers and students from schools of all levels, who will accompany visitors with guided tours and stories, helping to make the experience even more engaging and authentic.
